Terms of Use for Ethical Hacking Labs
Last updated: September 2, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Ethical Hacking Labs mobile application (the "App"), operated by Fodor Dávid ("we", "us", or "our").
By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Educational Purpose
Ethical Hacking Labs is a cybersecurity education and simulation application intended to help users learn penetration testing, defensive security, vulnerability analysis, and related cybersecurity concepts.
The labs, targets, terminals, vulnerabilities, credentials, networks, websites, systems, and scenarios presented inside the App are simulated training environments unless clearly stated otherwise.
2. Authorized and Lawful Use
You are responsible for ensuring that your cybersecurity activities comply with all applicable laws, regulations, contracts, policies, and authorization requirements.
You must not use the App or its educational material to:
- Access systems or accounts without authorization
- Conduct attacks against third parties without explicit permission
- Steal credentials, personal data, financial information, or confidential information
- Deploy malware or intentionally damage or disrupt systems
- Commit fraud, extortion, harassment, espionage, or other unlawful acts
- Circumvent legal access controls or security restrictions without authorization
- Assist another person in unlawful or unauthorized activity
You are solely responsible for how you apply knowledge learned through the App outside its simulated environment.
3. Accounts and Cloud Sync
Most educational functionality may be used without an account. Optional account functionality may allow you to synchronize progress across devices and access account-related features.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your authentication credentials and for activity performed through your account.
You must provide accurate information where information is required and must not impersonate another person or misuse another person's account.
4. Ethical Hacking Labs Pro
Some labs, learning content, arenas, hints, features, or other functionality may require an active Ethical Hacking Labs Pro subscription.
The exact features included in free and Pro access may change as the App evolves. Material changes will not intentionally deprive users of rights they have already acquired under applicable law or marketplace rules.
5. Auto-Renewable Subscriptions
Ethical Hacking Labs may offer monthly and annual auto-renewable Pro subscriptions through supported app marketplaces.
The subscription price and billing period shown to you by the App Store or Google Play at the time of purchase are the applicable price and term for that transaction.
Unless canceled, an auto-renewable subscription renews automatically according to the terms displayed by the marketplace. Payment is charged to the account associated with the marketplace through which the subscription was purchased.
You can manage or cancel an Apple App Store subscription through your Apple subscription settings: https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
Google Play subscriptions can be managed through Google Play subscription settings.
Canceling a subscription prevents future renewal but does not normally remove access already paid for during the current subscription period, subject to the applicable marketplace rules.
Deleting the App or deleting your Ethical Hacking Labs account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. You must cancel the subscription through Apple or Google separately.
6. Purchases, Restoration, and Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, not directly by us. We do not receive your payment card or bank account information.
The App may use RevenueCat to validate purchases, synchronize subscription entitlements, and support restoration of purchases.
Refund requests are handled according to the policies of the marketplace through which the purchase was made. We cannot directly issue App Store or Google Play refunds where the relevant marketplace controls the transaction.
7. Account Deletion
If you create an account, you may permanently delete it from within the App through: System → Danger Zone → Delete Account.
Account deletion removes the Ethical Hacking Labs account and associated cloud progress data, subject to any information that must lawfully be retained.
Account deletion is separate from subscription cancellation. If you have an active auto-renewable subscription, you should manage or cancel it through the marketplace where it was purchased.
8. Intellectual Property
The App and its original design, source code, learning material, lab scenarios, simulations, text, graphics, branding, and other original content are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Purchasing or downloading the App does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you.
You may use the App for personal educational purposes. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, sublicense, republish, or commercially exploit substantial portions of the App or its proprietary educational material without permission, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
9. Third-Party Software and Services
The App may rely on third-party platforms and services such as Google Firebase, Google Sign-In, GitHub, Sign in with Apple, RevenueCat, Talsec/freeRASP, Apple App Store, and Google Play.
Those services may be governed by their own terms and policies. Their availability, performance, or functionality may change independently of Ethical Hacking Labs.
10. App Availability and Updates
We may update, modify, add, remove, or redesign App functionality, learning material, free content, Pro content, security controls, or third-party integrations as the App develops.
We do not guarantee that every feature will remain permanently available or that the App will be compatible with every device or operating system version indefinitely.
Certain online features may temporarily be unavailable because of maintenance, internet connectivity, third-party service outages, platform changes, or other technical circumstances.
11. No Professional or Certification Guarantee
Ethical Hacking Labs is an educational tool. It is not a substitute for professional cybersecurity advice, formal authorization, legal advice, employer-approved testing procedures, or any particular certification training program.
We do not guarantee that use of the App will result in employment, certification, examination success, professional qualification, or any particular security outcome.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We make no guarantee that all educational content is error-free, that every simulated tool behaves identically to a real-world implementation, or that the App will operate without interruption or defects.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses or damages resulting from unauthorized, unlawful, negligent, or improper use of cybersecurity techniques learned through the App.
You remain responsible for obtaining authorization before performing security testing and for the consequences of your actions outside the App's simulated environment.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
14. Suspension or Termination
We may restrict or terminate access to account-based services where reasonably necessary to protect the App, other users, our infrastructure, or our legal rights, including in cases of fraud, abuse, unauthorized interference, or serious violation of these Terms.
Any action under this section remains subject to applicable consumer law and marketplace requirements.
15. Privacy
Information processed through the App is governed by our Privacy Policy.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, except where mandatory consumer protection or other applicable law gives you rights under the laws of another jurisdiction.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove mandatory rights available to consumers under European Union law or other applicable law.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when necessary to reflect changes to the App, subscriptions, services, legal requirements, or business practices.
The current version will be published on this page and identified by the "Last updated" date above.
